One Block Wonder Sample To top of page
One great fabric + One Shape = One stunning quilt. Create a complex look with no fussy cutting - just simple techniques. The first class will be making the hexagon blocks and the second class will be designing your one-of-a-kind quilt. This has been a great class and students have found this quilt to be very addicting. You will more than likely have to make more than one! So come and have a lot of fun!

Bargello on the Round Sample To top of page
Make this beautiful Bargello circular quilt to be a wall hanging, a tablecloth, baby quilt or a center medallion for a lovely quilt. It’s up to you! The choices are endless. The technique of strip piecing and wedge cutting is quick and simple. A bonus with this quilt is all your scraps will be used! With the left over wedge pieces you can make a 2nd Bargello that does look different from the first one! This project would also look good in Christmas fabrics!

Have you ever wanted to go on Safari-well, here’s your chance. We will be doing Sharon Malec’s free standing appliqué technique. It is a method of making pictorial quilts using freezer paper as templates and a glue stick as basting with machine appliqué. The animals of choice are the Lion (the easiest), Elephant, Tiger, and Orangutan (the hardest).

Twisted Star Sample To top of page
This lap quilt was designed by Sue Bouchard but is an Eleanor Burns signature “Quilt in A Day.” It will feature Perfect Triangle Pieced Squares and Star Points. If you haven’t tried one of Eleanor Burns’ “Quilt in A Day” patterns, I can tell you it was fun and went together very quickly. The pattern also has cutting dimensions for Twin and Queen Size quilts.

The Rose of Sharon is another of the most time-honored appliqué patterns from the 19th century.In this class we will build on your appliqué skills!In addition to reviewing some of the beginning techniques, you will learn to use freezer paper templates and a vinyl overlay.You will work to improve your appliqué stitching and explore how to overlap appliqué pieces, keeping them accurate and flat!

Carolina Lily Wreath Sample To top of page
The response to our 'Mexican Stars' class recently was so enthusiastic that we thought we should try another pattern by the designers at Southwind Designs.Once again, 'Carolina Lily Wreath' is a unique wall-hanging using "straight seam piecing with curved results".The techniques are similar to those in 'Mexican Stars' but not the same.
Translation:You get the look of curves but don't actually have to piece any!Leslie chose to make her sample in her favorite batiks but commercial prints would work just as well.While this project is not difficult, it is not designed for a beginner so some quilting experience is suggested.

We will be making a small teddy bear from mohair.You will be making a dress for you teddy bear.The full skirt (with or without apron) will be the pin cushion.The pin cushion will be approximately 7" tall.
